The value of 'community integration' in the promotion of wellness and a better the quality of life for all community members; people and nature.

Occupations, neuroplasticity and its relation with meaningful cognitive stimulating activities.

Understanding the concept and vision of a purposeful, meaningful and inclusive recreation and activities program for assisted living communities

Formal and informal recreation and activity interventions aim at improving cognitive functioning, social integration and a healthier brain. Interventions like:
sensation seeker
risk taking
motor coordination
vocation and values
creativity
spirituality
Examples of inclusive, seasonal and intergenerational programs for assisted living communities.

Overview of the value of touch therapy, color therapy and spiritual therapy for older adults in assisted living communities.

Effective communication and community integration with printing materials: calendars, postings and newsletters.

Coping with fear and anxiety... How fear works?
How can a person function in spite of being afraid during an emergency situation? How to promote feelings of safety? Appropriate emergency planning for older and disabled people was a very important component of this meaningful program.


Program Summary

Understanding, developing and nurturing an ongoing model of HOME lifestyle, where all its members care and look after each other

We began our program defining "COMMUNITY" and "HOME". Everyone is invited to contribute for a better and safe environment and lifestyle for everyone.

The essentials in an emergency preparedness kit

Food safety and sanitation

Emergency and security system programs

The importance of community integration, better communication and knowledge of safety regulations, sensory and cognitive limitations among bed bound, frail elderly and persons with disabilities

Coping with fear and anxiety... how fear works? how can a person function in spite of being afraid? how to promote feelings of safety?
