How does one deal with pessimists and negative people? Ignore them or inspire them and make them work. Give them your example and show them positive results you have obtained.

Robert Muller, Former UN Assistant Secretary General

2. Workshop Part II: Human Evolving vs. Aging; presented at Sacred Heart Medical Center, Providence Center For Faith and Healing.

1. Welcoming remarks by Dr. Jim Shaw, Medical Director Providence Center
For Faith and Healing. 2. KJW presenting "Human Evolving vs. Aging."

Some of the topics learned and discussed during this program
:

How the essences of better longevity can be nurtured by; the total integration of whole-person-living, the mind-body connection, the environment as our extended body, and the alignment of the many ways that life and love is manifested, within ourselves, among people, animals and nature.

Is aging a result of the neglect of evolutionary and biological integrity? If so, what can you do to co-create and influence; the natural ability of the body for self-repair, healthier cell functioning, better breathing, reduction of oxidative stress and inflammation.

Comments from the participants:

"Thank you for allowing everyone to ask questions."

"I have learned how toxic thoughts can affect my immune system and overall health."

"I have learned other ways to explore and manifest peace, serenity and relaxation in changing my attitude."

"I am learning ways to love myself as I forgive others. It was a God thing that Kathy appeared in my life."

"This class has been exceptionally meaningful to me. As a health care professional I am aware of biological markers of aging, but Kathy presented the importance of a meaningful (lifestyle) to those outcomes. Kathy also talked about how we nurture and stimulate our body by the behaviors and choices we make."

3. Foundación Alzheimer's Venezuela and WEL, World Elder Land presents 23rd ADI Conference "New Perspectives, New Hope." Caracas, Venezuela.

To better our brain we must nurture whole-person wellness...

Heavy metals, pesticides and other toxins may be implicated in the development of Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. Exposure to industrial metals such as aluminum and mercury have long been suspected of increasing risk of Alzheimer's, and new evidence suggests that dietary iron, copper and zinc may also be involved in the formation of plaque found in the brain of Alzheimer's patients. To protect the brain; avoid or minimize exposure to industrial chemicals; eat a diet high in antioxidant-rich foods such as fruits and vegetables; consume natural chelators like water, green tea and tumeric. (The Lancet, Mount Sinai School of Medicine)

Maintaining a positive attitude living well with Alzheimer's... Try to enjoy each day as it comes, focusing on meaningful activities and what can be done rather than on the things that can no longer be done.

Listening to Mozart's Divertimento 3rd Movement in D, increases dopamine, one of the "joy neurotransmitters" that also reduces systolic blood pressure. (Journal of American Geriatric Society)

Research indicates that poor glucose tolerance, a common complication of obesity and an early indication of developing diabetes, is associated with decreased general cognitive performance, memory impairments, and atrophy of the hippocampus, a key brain center for learning and memory. (Mind, Moods and Memory, Massachusetts General Hospital)
